Oval Satsuma Vase, Japan, Meiji period, with slightly flaring mouth, decorated in a painterly design with peonies, irises, and butterflies between patterned bands, unsigned, ht. 15 1/2 in. Estimate $400-600 in good condition with loss of gilt particularly around mouth rim. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
