British Pattern 1827/45 Rifle Corps Officer's Sword, c. mid-19th century, steel hilt with a pierced crown over a bugle, shagreen grip with wire wrap, steel blade marked on the ricasso "PROVED", blade etched with foliate designs and "RIFLE/CORPS," blade lg. 32 3/4, overall lg. 39 in. Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $300-500 Blade has some light pits but in overall good condition.
