Identified Gold Chicago Mercantile Battery Medal, c. late 19th century, gold bar engraved "G.H. Mendson," with a black-velvet ribbon and a gold badge with crossed cannons engraved "Chicago Mercantile Battery" with all of the battles they participated in around the outside, and a gold chevron bottom engraved "Organized Aug 29 62," ht. 4 1/8 in. Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $400-600 In very good condition.
