Winfield Scott's Mexican War Stirrups, Carte-de-visite, Silver Rosette, and a Book from His Library, c. 1840s-60s, iron stirrups with eagle rosettes on either side (one missing), a carte-de-visite of General Scott, a patriotic envelope with an image of the general, a silver horse tack rosette with an eagle and stars, and an 1849 printing of The Works of Flavius Josephus, marked on the inside "Gen Scott Library/No. 10." Provenance: Former collection of Norm Flayderman and Donald Ball. Estimate $3,500-4,500 Spurs are in very good condition but missing one rosette, CDV has some light foxing and a flake on the left side, the cover of the book is detaching.
