Flask Identified to Patrick Ryan, 4th Massachusetts Cavalry, c. 1864, glass bottle with pewter spout and removable cup on the base, cup engraved "Patrick Ryan/4th Mass/Cavalry," top of the flask is covered in leather, ht. 5 1/2 in. Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Note: Private Patrick Ryan enlisted in the 4th Massachusetts Cavalry Regiment in January of 1864 and was mustered out of service in Richmond, Virginia, on November 14, 1865. Estimate $300-500 Some loose stitching on the sides of the leather but in overall very good condition.
