George Clarke Winged Lantern Clock for the Turkish Market, London, c. 1780, the arched composite brass dial with silvered boss in the arch engraved "Geo: Clarke/London" flanked by Turkish themed spandrels, a "Turkish" numeral chapter ring surrounds a matted center with pierced steel hands and similar spandrels to those above, posted-frame, verge escapement rope-drive movement with anchor bob within movement center and swinging beyond the frame, countwheel mounted on the back, hour bell mounted above masked by pierced frets, and rear sharpened wall spikes, ht. 14 in.
