19th Century Lead Sundial and a Compass Instruction Plate, Europe, 8 1/4-in. instrument with roman numeral dial in the center, figures representing the four seasons in each corner, and a book plate by Andre Vogler on the use of a sundial, in French and German, with pole heights of various well known cities on the reverse, under two sheets of glass. Provenance: Edward S. Jones collection, Los Angeles.
