12-inch Diameter French Armillary Sphere, early 20th century, outer band with engraved paper ring printed with months, days, signs of the zodiac, four upright supports, each support printed on both sides with the tropics, poles, ecliptic and equator reading in French, central brass bar with a twelve-paper-gore sphere representing the sun, ten discs printed on both sides representing the solar planets mounted on movable brass arms, small brass sphere representing earth, and all mounted to a turned and ebonized wooden base, ht. 21 in.
