Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988) On Such a Night as This Signed "Romare/Bearden" l. r., titled u.c., with a label from Seventeen Wendell Street Gallery, Cambridge, affixed to the frame backing. Marker on graph paper, sight size 16 1/2 x 21 1/2 in. (41.9 x 54.6 cm), framed. Condition: Gentle rippling, not examined out of frame. Estimate $2,000-3,000 The sheet is hinged to the window mat with tape near the upper corners on the reverse. Pale mat burn; scattered minor handling creases, and a larger horizontal crease, measuring approximately 2 in., at upper left; smudges or small stains to the upper center, on either side of the title; minor abrasions (possibly from previous mounts) to the edges, primarily on the verso. Sheet size: 17 x 22 in. Framed dimensions: 24 x 28 1/2 in.
