Baule Standing Male Figure, large feet standing on a rounded base, heavy straight legs supporting an elongated torso with bent arms carved into the sides, large hands accentuate the stomach scarification, the large oval face has protruding lips, and eyes, and long nose, with a complex incised crested coiffure, decorated at the torso, neck and face with delicately raised scarification, rich brown patina, ht. 15 in. Provenance: Charles Ratton, Paris, France, purchased in the 1950s.
