Eight-pound Solid Shot Artillery Ammunition Box, c. 1860s, green-painted wooden ammunition box, stenciled on one side "FIXED AMMN/8 ROUNDS/LIGHT 12 Pdr GUN/SOLID SHOT," and lightly stenciled the same on the other side, with half of the lid, lg. 19 3/4, ht. 11 1/2, wd. 12 3/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Don Troiani. Estimate $400-600 Some paint loss and half of the lid remains. Has some other stenciled markings from other use.
