Chauncey Jerome Gilt Gallery Clock, Connecticut, c. 1850, carved and gilt case with hinged wooden bezel over the 16-in. painted zinc roman numeral dial marked "Presented by HORATIO LESEUR Jan. 1st 1864," eight-day, spring-powered, time-only movement regulated by a pendulum, dia. 22 in. Estimate $800-1,200 Clock has no label and movement is unmarked but clock is like those in Jerome catalogs of the time period. Finish freshened with gold paint.
