Imperial Edict, China, early 18th century, with a four-character title "fengtian gaoming," (by the command of heaven), followed by Chinese and Manchu scripts and two large imperial seals with two dragons, dated "yongzheng 13th year" (1735), approx. 11 x 73 in. Estimate $800-1,000 tattered with detached piece, tears along edges, fading and discoloration, loss of pigment to calligraphy, trace of water damage and glue remnants to some areas, with embroidered silk case.
