Attributed to John Blunt (New Hampshire/Massachusetts, 1798-1835) Portrait of a Lady in a Black Dress Seated in an Empire Armchair Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 33 x 28 in., in a molded gilt-gesso frame. Condition: Areas of retouch, mostly to the background and dress, minor smaller areas in hair. Estimate $4,000-6,000 Relined, repaired tear at upper right. Retouch at edges of canvas at liner, retouch in the seat, dress, edges of hair, nose, hands.
