American, 20th century. Pair of St. Timothy (Hickory, N.C.) mahogany open armchairs with serpentine padded back and armrests carved with rosettes and downswept reeded supports raised on cabriole legs carved at the knee with scrolled acanthus and terminating in foliate scrolled toes. Covered in striped upholstered with large nailhead trim. Height 38", width 27" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 17".
