Turner Solid Blue Jasper Bough Pot and Cover, England, late 18th century, pierced pyramidal cover to vase with canted sides applied white classical heads to rim and oval cartouches of classical figures to each paneled side, mounted on four paw-and-ball feet raised on a lapidary polished black basalt plinth, impressed mark, ht. 7 7/8 in. Literature: Similar illustrated in Master Potters of the Industrial Revolution - The Turners of Lane End, by B. Hillier, plate 5b. Estimate $700-900 Entire cover restored; one classical head restored and associated area; staining to the top of the paw feet.
