H. La Croix (French, 19th Century) French Crevettes Fishers Signed "H. LA CROIX" l.l., titled and numbered "2148/..." on a handwritten label affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 27 x 21 3/4 in. (68.2 x 58.0 cm), framed. Condition: Paint loss to c.r. edge, fine craquelure, surface grime, some transfer of gold paint to the edges of the canvas. Estimate $300-500 Ornate frame, overpainted in gold, measures 38 1/2 x 33 1/2 in.
