This surrounds presents with complete original elements showing minor sensitive restoration. A contemporary black metal display framework has been added to the reverse in order to exhibit the pieces in the manner consistent with the original installation at the Chicago Stock exchange. The elements present with nuanced patina throughout that further enhances the rich sculptural details. This work will be sold with detailed installation instructions. In the catalogue illustration the vertical copper standards immediately adjacent to either side of the decorative door panel were not properly installed. These standards should attach to the lower portion of the horizontal copper panel situated above. A remarkable opportunity to acquire an original elevator surround from the Chicago Stock Exchange designed at the apex of the careers of Sullivan and Adler.
