Overall good condition. General surface soiling throughout and streaking along right side of composition, likely the result of face of canvas coming into contact with liquid. This has not impacted the integrity of the paint. Some scuffs and abrasions to surface, particularly along top edge. These scuffed areas do not seem to have resulted in paint loss but rather have pigment from other source left on surface of work. Small patch of unknown dried substance in lower left corner (red field) of composition (paint does not seem effected). Small 1" tear to canvas at lower left edge and small 1" tear to top left edge (in yellow field). Paint stable overall. Unframed. Signed and dated to lower right ‘James Brooks 1980’. USA, 1980
