British School, early 20th century. "Horses and Hounds", oil on canvas, inscribed "Payne" to verso of canvas. Painting depicting a country landscape with an animal figural grouping at center comprising of two horses standing at back fronted by three hunting dogs surrounding a basket of dead fowl, one dog with a quail or pheasant in its mouth, the scene with faint mountains to background. Framed approximately 27.25" x 23", unframed approximately 21.25" x 17".
