Overall desk and chair present well in person and show in very good condition. There are several shallow indentations to leading edge of desk and upper edge of chair. Laminate top of desk showing fine lines and abrasions in patterned clusters from use, visible mostly in raking light. Few areas of touch-up to previous paint loss to edges of desk, somewhat visible in normal light and UV light. Chair measures: 30 h x 22 w x 23 d inches. Desk features five drawers. Signed and dated to desk base ‘Wendell Castle 1990’. Signed to chair leg ‘D. Sottile’. Incised signature to interior of drawer ‘David B. Fowler’. Castle was assisted in the construction of this work by his studio director and trusted craftsman, Donald Sottile, as well as David B. Fowler. USA, 1990
