Hand-applied brush strokes visible in raking light. Approximately four shrinkage cracks originating at edges and near natural fissures. Roughly 1.75 inch long loss to bottom edge of table top, climbing up roughly 1.5 inch into thickness of top. Dramatic grain. Otherwise good overall condition.
Table features large and dramatic single-slab English oak burl top with one large natural fissure and three East Indian laurel butterflies. Signed, dated and inscribed to underside ‘For Skippy and Bob Mira Nakashima June 7, 1998’. Sold with a digital copy of the original drawing.
