Set of six Early 19th Century Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs with pine secondaries, two armchairs and four side chairs. Descended in a family originally from Baltimore. Chairs with pierced splats, upholstered slip seats and having square legs; arm chairs measure approximately 40-1/2" high, 22-3/8" wide with a seat depth of 16-1/2" and seat height of 19-5/8", each. Side chairs measure approximately 39" high, 21" wide with a seat depth of 16-1/2" and seat height of 19-5/8" each. Upholstery not original to the chairs. Both armchairs appear to have been disassembled and sanded to remove imperfections and reassembled. Many repairs to joints, splats, some new glue blocks. Old finish. All chairs with various stages of repair.
