Signed Passport for the cutter "Nancy", 21 February 1801, leaving from New York City to Londonderry, Ireland. Partially printed document, in four languages, with intact seals. Matted with an image of John Adams, and a brass plaque; there is a 1.5 x 6 in. Cut-out of the document from the right margin to "By the President", but the signature of John Adams appears boldly above the excision. Framed 26 x 36 inches. This is one of the last passports signed by President Adams. The may be the ship Nancy which had been engaged in carrying emigrants from Ireland as cargo.
