circa 1630-1650 carved to show the Ascension of Christ into heaven flanked by angels and surrounded by the twelve Apostles. Height 44 x width 28 inches. Provenance: Steve Tipton Antiquarian, Louisville, Kentucky Age cracks, worming and wood loss throughout consistent with age. Numerous figures missing hands, arms or other elements. Large angel figure at upper center missing one arm. Probably with later finish.
