Sold for:
$3,250

20th century comprising a Neoclassical style console table having a demilune marble top above an openwork frieze raised on scrolled supports; a side table having a circular stone top above the foliate frieze spaced with rosettes and six Janus & Cie armchairs in the Amalfi pattern, each having a latticework back and seat, the arms mounted with gilt ball finials, raised on cylindrical tapering legs joined by curved stretchers; 8 items total. Height of console table 34 1/4 x width 88 3/8 x depth 25 inches. Property from the Collection of The Steins, Glencoe, Illinois Height of side table 22 1/8. Height of chair 36 1/2 inches. Metal composition is unknown; probably steel, as is customary for Janus & Cie products. Black finish is probably powder-coated; gilt finials appear to be gold-painted. Fabric is an outdoor-grade material. Both metal and fabric are weather resistant and intended for use outdoors; metal with scratches and surface wear from light outdoor use. A few scratches are exposing loss to the black finish with rust forming. Cushions in generally good condition with a few light stains.
