Lucy Freeman Claiborne studied at the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia, National Academy of Design and Art Students League in New York City and worked as a fashion illustrator in New York City before becoming a member of Gallery 84 on 57th St in New York - then returned to Charlottesville, VA (where she grew up). In 2006 she joined the Bozart Gallery. Landscapes have always been a favorite of hers to paint. Like life with sad and happy times, skies with clouds cast shadows on fields and mountains but blue skies show sunny spots on fields and mountains.
