(British, 1811-1892) Hunting Scene oil on canvas 17 1/2 x 27 1/2 inches. In decent, stable condition overall consistent with age. Craquelure throughout. Allover accretions of surface dirt and grime to the canvas. Examination under UV light reveals scattered areas of retouch, especially visible in the upper-left and lower-right quadrants, as well as to the bodies of the horses and to the ground beneath their hooves.
