(British, 1851-1932) Huntsman, 1898 oil on canvas signed A. Wheeler and dated (lower left) 14 x 18 inches. Property from the Collection of Rhoda Rosenthal, Chicago, Illinois In good, stable condition overall. General faintness to the reins. Examination under UV light reveals a fairly uneven varnish to the canvas and scattered areas of retouch, particularly to the left register of the canvas. Apparent area of repair visible on the reverse of the canvas that corresponds to the placement of the reins.
