william hunter, london, 18th century having an engraved steel face with Roman numeral hours, Arabic numeral minutes and an additional dial for Strike/Silent, all flanked by columns over a straight trunk ending in bracket feet, the door inlaid to show a shell. Height 95 1/2 inches. Finials not original to the case; hood in poor condition with age cracks, veneer warping and areas of repaired veneer with brown overpainting. Dusty. Case with several tight age cracks and areas of small veneer loss/repair with brown overpainting. With weights and crank. Clock winds but does not run or strike.
