19th century allegorical of the regions of Italy. Height of tallest 5 5/8 inches. Dimensions of plaques as pictured in catalogue: Upper-left: 4 3/4 x 4 1/8 inches. Upper-center: 5 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches. Upper-right: 5 x 4 inches. Lower-left: 5 x 4 inches. Lower-center: 4 3/4 inches (diameter). Lower-right: 5 x 3 7/8 inches. Each with scattered areas of discoloration, wear, and some loss to the paint, particularly on the edges (in a manner consistent with age). Each with strips of velcro affixed to the reverse. The plaque depicting Romulus, Remus and the she-wolf with minor chips and abrasions to the edges. The plaque depicting a dolphin with areas of loss and flaking to the paint. Examination under UV light reveals scattered, minor areas of retouch.
