late 18th/early 19th century each with a curved padded back, padded arms and a cushion seat, the frames carved with running coin, bellflower and acanthus leaf decoration, raised on fluted tapering legs. Height 41 3/4 inches. Property from the Collection of The Steins, Glencoe, Illinois Good condition. Sturdy. Minor separations between some joints. Scattered scuffs, scratches and areas of gilt loss with exposed gesso; some chips. Upholstery intact and in good condition (matelasse leather).
