English, contemporary. A pair of black tole chinoiserie-motif pagoda form candle lanterns, each having a paneled pagoda top with a crested spire, every other panel painted with gold scales and figural decorations, with a shaped edge accented with scrolled and bells, atop a pierced floral frieze cornice, with a glass door and sides and a mirrored back, atop a pierced floral base. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 25.5", width 11.5", depth 8.75". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the Owner of Chelsea House.
