Anglo-Irish, likely 18th century. A superb Georgian sweetmeat cut glass epergne having a large navette or boat form bowl with a Vandyke-collared rim raised on a cut vasiform standard with petal shaped collar hung with pear shaped prisms, the scalloped bowl issuing six zipper cut scrolling candlearms surmounted with six matching navette form sweetmeat dishes and dressed with rosettes and graduated festoons of pear-shaped prisms and pendants and supported by a urn shaped base decorated with elongated punties and diamond point raised on a paneled dome and diamond shape three-quarter inch thick foot. Approximate height 23.5", diameter 18". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the Owner of Chelsea House.
