Attributed to the workshop and warerooms of Prudent Mallard, third quarter 19th century. Rococo Revival rosewood four poster bed, likely crafted for the antebellum New Orleans market, having a scroll carved and paneled headboard centered with leafy foliage and cabochon cartouche joined to the molded rails and footboard by generous turned, tapering columns surmounted with acorn turned finials and terminating in foot posts carved with gothic-arched panels. Apparently not marked. Approximate height 109", width 72.75", interior width 70", interior depth 78.5".
