Peter D. Luneschloss & Co. (German) imported by Tiffany & Co. (American). A solingen steel Civil War officer's sword with blade by P.D. Luneschloss and grip by Tiffany & Co., the fancy grip with gray fish or ray skin handle and pierced iron guard displaying acanthus leaves and scrolls, the blade with etched decoration to either side, one side with "E. Pluribus Unum" between wings, over a shield, and amid rays and clouds and the other side with an armored knight amid scrolls, accompanied with likely original iron scabbard. Marked to either side of blade base with Tiffany and Luneschloss maker's marks. Saber overall length approximately 39.5", blade approximately 34".
