Continental School (possibly Italian). "Woman Reading Letter", oil on wood panel, signed and dated at lower left "Corazzi 1872". Interior figural genre scene depicting young woman wearing pale blue gown with navy accents sitting at a desk in a study or library, reading a letter or correspondence as her dog looks on; the desk with a feather quill and ink well, various papers and a bouquet of flowers including red poppies in an apparently chinoiserie blue and white vase, the walls lined with ornate bookshelves. Framed approximately 16.25" x 14.5". Unframed approximately 10.25" x 8.5".
