Interior figural genre scene depicting young woman wearing pale blue gown with navy accents sitting at a desk in a study or library, reading a letter or correspondence as her dog looks on; the desk with a feather quill and ink well, various papers and a bouquet of flowers including red poppies in an apparently chinoiserie blue and white vase, the walls lined with ornate bookshelves. Framed approximately 16.25" x 14.5". Unframed approximately 10.25" x 8.5".
