Likely German, late 19th century. An unusual four piece figural teapot, in the form of hybrid animal, having an elephant and monkey teapot head with a grotesque mask lid, lifting off a monkey body, holding a dragon and wearing a red cape with a painted gilt image of a figure, possibly Saint George, slaying a dragon, with hoofed feet, on a scrolled peach and gilt decorated base. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 10.75", width 5.25", depth 5.25".
