The obverse features a central relief image surrounded by the words "Juegos de la XIX Olympiada/ Octubre 12-27 Mexico 68" 19th Olympic Games / October 12 - 27 Mexico 68 . On the reverse is the emblem for the Mexico Summer Olympics, a stylized number "68" that incorporates the Olympic rings. On the rim of the medal is stamped "925," the symbol for sterling silver.
