An enamel and silver 1930 World Cup medal presented to the captain of the winning Uruguayan team, José Nasazzi. The 1930 FIFA World Cup was the inaugural FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national association football teams. It took place from July 13 to July 30, 1930. All matches were played in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, the majority at the Estadio Centenario, which was built for the tournament. The 1930 FIFA World Cup final featured the finalists from the 1928 Olympics: Uruguay and Argentina. Uruguay won, 4-2. The enamel design of the medal features the poster image for the 1930 World Cup, an Art Deco design depicting a stylized figure of a goalkeeper making a save and the dates of the event. The reverse is inscribed "José/ Nasazzi/ Capitán" and stamped "800" for its silver content. 1 1/4 by 5/8 inches Categories:
