Jan Koogje Marquetry Bombe Longcase Clock, Wormrerver, Netherlands, c. 1790, the dome-top case with winged figures at the sides and Atlas in the center, glazed hood door and engaged columns over the composite brass dial marked by maker as above along the lower edge of chapter ring, roman numerals, fully engraved center with recessed date and applied seconds dial, cast brass "four seasons" spandrels, engraved moon's age dial in the arch with signs of the zodiac, the waist door fully inlaid with floral basket and birds, lower bombe section inlaid with floral cornucopia all resting on flattened ball feet, eight-day time and strike, weight-powered movement with alarm and Dutch striking, two cast iron weights and pendulum, ht. 107 in. Note: This clock is fully inlaid on all visible surfaces including case body and hood sides.
