Gallatin, Albert (1761-1849) Six Signed Letters, 1808-1810. Six letters, all signed by Gallatin, each with bifolium self-envelope free franked (one signed by Thomas Tucker). One to John Kittridge, Collector for Gloucester, Massachusetts, the other five addressed to David Gelston, Superintendent of Light Houses for New York. Each letter very delicate, separated almost completely at every fold, bottom corner of one letter with half of Gallatin's signature missing, each 9 3/4 x 8 in. (6) Gallatin was a Swiss-American politician, ethnologist, linguist, and diplomat who was the fourth and longest serving Secretary of the Treasury.
