August Edouart (French/American, 1789-1861) Two Silhouettes of Gentlemen, both signed in l. l. corner "Augt Edouart fecit 1828," one depicting a seated man, inscribed on the back "Andrew Hoes?," in a molded wood frame with gilt liner; the other depicting a standing man wearing a top hat, inscribed on the back "John Hoes," in a giltwood frame; both with Edouart's printed advertising label adhered to the back, ht. to 10 1/4 in. (sight).
