Carved Walnut Side Chair, Pennsylvania, last half 18th century, the serpentine crest rail centering a carved shell with scrolled terminals above the pierced scroll-carved vasiform splat flanked by raking stiles with trapezoidal slip seat on scrolled seat frame joining frontal cabriole legs ending in claw-and-ball feet, raking chamfered rear legs, old surface, (minor imperfections), ht. 41, seat ht. 18 in. Note: Old label on the back reads: "Wharton Chair/Mahogany claw foot chair came from grandmother/Wharton's house."
