Evelyn Metzger (American, 1911-2007) oil on panel; signed to lower right and dated '02; possibly depicting mother and child in traditional Lapland Scandinavian dress. This lot includes a book entitled "The Age of Grandeur And A Woman Who Lived It: Artist Evelyn Metzger". It is a hard bound book that covers both her social life and her artistic appreciation and contributions, examining her formal studies of art history at Vassar, her flexibility and travels, and her portraits. Artwork measures approximately 24" x 18" unframed and the book measures approximately 11-15/16" x 9-1/2"; painting in good overall condition with slight wear to edges and book in very good condition.
