Larry (Lawrence) Edwardson (American, 1904–1995). Colorful oil on masonite depiction of an old shed bar & lounge long-since closed in Northern Louisiana, titled and dated verso plus signed "Edwardson" to lower right. Measures approximately 18" in height & 24" in width. In overall good condition, slight knick to lower corners.Laurence Christie Edwardson was born in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1904 and lived part of his life in Kensington, Connecticut. Much of his painting career was spent in New England and New Orleans, Louisiana. His work includes many Louisiana landscapes, portraits and religious subjects; and one of his modernist works is in the Historic New Orleans Collection.
