Neal Rantoul (American, b. 1946) Sockanosset School for Boys, Cranston, Rhode Island , 2003. Titled and signed "...Neal Rantoul" in ink on the frame backing u.l. Archival inkjet print, image 34 1/8 x 47 1/8 in. (94.2 x 119.8 cm), unmatted, framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. N.B. The Sockanosset School for Boys served as a juvenile detention facility and reformatory from 1881 until 1985. Rantoul photographed the school's abandoned buildings as they were being developed for retail and residential use. Based in the Boston area, Rantoul taught at Northeastern University for over 40 years.
