circa 1780 each having a circular padded back, padded arms and a stuffover seat, raised on fluted tapering legs. Height 34 inches. Property from a Chicago Collector, Formerly of Lake Forest, Illinois Provenance: Purchased Christie's New York, 21 October 1997, lot 269 Overall good, very attractive, usable condition. One chair with a broken seat rail and earlier repairs to its arm and support. Other chairs with scattered similar (but minor) repairs. All with areas of overpainted gilt. Probably re-blocked. Upholstery intact and in very good condition. Additional photos available upon request.
