Chester Hewell (American(Georgia) b. 1950) and Matthew Hewell (American(Georgia), b. 1972), contemporary. A handled churn and jug in dark glaze with drips of white and cobalt; the churn a three gallon with lug handle to one side and loop handle to the other, numbered '3' above the shoulder. The jug with loop handle mounted at the top , the other side inscribed at the top "Hewell Pottery/Gillsville GA". The underside of churn inscribed "Chester Hewell CSA". The underside of jug inscribed "Matthew Hewell/John 3:16/End of Day". Approximate height of churn 14.5". Approximate height of jug 17.5"
