KAI (American) MICHAEL JACKSON ( Now Royalty Series ) - 2014 Inkjet on paper Signed and numbered in pencil lower right "Kai 192/200" 23 by 30 inches KAI burst on the scene achieving notoriety in the Street Art Scene with his ‘Morons’ project, a series of street installations with the unique anti-smoking Malboro ‘Foolish Choice’ designed cigarette packets. The present print is derived from his 'Now Royalty' series which portrayed several music icons against in the style of classical figurative painting and portraiture. In reference to the exhibition, Kai was quoted saying,"I'm happy I got to show another side to my art. While I am known for my street art, I was mentored to appreciate art history and all forms of art, including classical painting. I am not a one-dimensional artist and I challenge myself to work in many different forms and mediums. I guess the 'Now Royalty' collection brought my art into a new light, which is going to be fun and will be interesting to see what happens. I hope it will open some creative doors for me." The many faces of Michael Jackson throughout the ages is one of the most detailed in the series. $300-500 Categories: Kai
